Not sure what the hype is. I've tried two other taquerias in Mission (el farolito and taqueria cancun) and both had better tacos and burritos than this joint...maybe it is because they did not toast my burrito and lacked the gooey cheese my farolito burrito had but I was left unimpressed.

I ordered a carnitas burrito - with avocado. It was good. 4 stars. I can't really pinpoint anything special about it...but I left satisfied. Come right when it opens at 11am to beat a mad rush. My brother and sister-in-law are obsessed with the carne asada quesadillas, and I have to admit, they looked delicious. I would probably order that next :)

Apparently this place won some online bracket for "Best Burrito in the West"--according to a friend of a friend of mine. Or something like that. Well, the carne asada burrito was really good, but I'm not quite sure it was a bracket-winner. But who really cares? Come here for really good burritos and tacos with fresh ingredients. Dab a little hot sauce in there to take it up another level, then sip some horchata to cool the mouth down. If I'm in the area again and craving a burrito, I'll be back.

The food is just not good. It lacks any quality taste. Plus the majority of the food is overpriced. I honestly would never go there again.

ew & yuck. amazingly disappointing super vegetarian burrito. obviously cheapest ingredients and very slimy/ sloppy. they don't recycle, if they do it's a well-kept secret. an otherwise efficient operation though not worth a return visit

#1Burrito? My vote goes for their dorado tacos, the burrito is a different concept. If we really must go there...the Burritos are decent and tasty when it comes to the meat, I appreciate that they do not put rice (as I'm not a fan of it) but they missed basics like cilantro and onion, I KNOW and this was the "super"...BUT their tacos are bomb, I cannot lie. The carne asada dorado tacos are heavenly!!! That extra layer of fried tortilla with the cheese makes a huge tasty difference! Beware of the line but its worth it, goes by pretty fast unless your stomach is being a food daemon ;)

Got a super burrito de carne asada! What stood out in this burrito was the carne asada. The meat was so tender and flavorful!!! I want to say the burrito portion was small.. Only because I inhaled it all. La salsa no estaba picante, pero tenía mucha sabor ! Note** Parking is hard to find.. And lines are very long !!!

ordered a carne asada super burrito with all the fixings (standard for the course). enjoyed it greatly, but found myself wondering if i should've opted for a quesadilla or torta instead. the burrito is not quite as fat as i'd hope for $10. pro tip: call and order ahead, then swoop right in at the designated time for pickup. you'll avoid a long, completely unnecessary line.

Ok, upon review, I was in fact stingy. I should have just ordered all the guac/sour cream/salsa my little heart desired. When I finally went back and did this (admittedly, it took some time because the density of burritos in the area is so great), I did not regret it. Delicious! I still missed rice in my burrito, and the tortilla was a bit soft to my liking, but I must rectify my past review. This taqueria is not for stingy vegetarians, but for vegetarians smart enough to order the super burrito.

Just ate here for the first time and omg let me tell you, when they say best tacos in the world they are absolutely right. You must get the super tacos hard shell wrapped with a soft tortilla. The line was long bit the wait was worth it

I..... don't know. Best burrito in America? Probably not.. at least not the one I had. Veggie burrito, grilled. The veg burrito has an insane amt of pinto beans... like more than any one person could eat in 1 sitting. The salsa, sour cream and guac ratio was very good though. The seating areas leave a lot to be desired, but I understand this is just the type of business this is. If I had to wait for more than 20 min for the burrito I ate, the rating might be lower. It's not worth the wait.

Best Carne Asada Burrito ever. A couple friends told us we needed to try this place. So glad we did. The only mistake we made was splitting a super burrito, thinking it would be enough. It wasn't. We ordered it El Dorado style. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back when we're in SF again!

I have to give La Taq the crown for best burrito - at this point, I bring people visiting SF here specifically for it. You have to go super for the avocado and sour cream - I'm guessing you won't be able to finish it all (20% of people I have brought finished it). Do we really want to know where the ingredients come from or what grade meat they use? No. If they were getting the ingredients from Whole Foods, we'd be paying for it. It's good, so don't worry about it. This is the definition of San Francisco comfort food right here. Atmosphere is good but lack of seating is frequently an issue. The variety of drink choices and quality of food make up for that. This place is a permanent bookmark and a regular stop for me. Should be designated as a landmark already.

Why do people rave about this place? Even if it was the first burrito I have ever tried, it was very, very average tasting. Except it wasn't average. The prices were high (almost $8 for a dinky burrito with avocado), and over $3 for a taco. I would excuse the high prices if the food was phenomenol, but it really wasn't. The size was not the size of an average burrito either. Nope, it was a child sized burrito that barely made a dent in my stomach. And I don't eat very much. If I waited longer than I did (about a 10 minute wait), I would have been pissed. But I'll just cut my losses and eat at other, actually good places.

Very nice customer service, a clean and interesting atmosphere, and a pretty good burrito. It wasn't amazing, or close to the best burrito I've ever had, but certainly very good. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
